Aerial photography with the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, offers a new vantage point. During fire and explosion investigations drones can capture images that would have required a ladder truck or hiring a helicopter before. They can provide imagery of a second floor that is no longer safe for a fire investigator to photograph. Drones can provide photographs in areas that may be too dangerous to send an investigator.
